- Exploration of the Thermodon-Amazons' homeland in northern Turkey
Our research work focuses on the landscape at the river Thermodon, and the sacred island of the Amazons - Giresun Adasi.
Main targets are: the delta of the river Thermodon, Terme, Kocamanbasi, Karpu Kale, Tekkeköy, Akalan, Ikiztepe, Asar Kale and the island Giresun Adasi.
==> Karpu Kale Competition 2016 - Investigation of the Libyan Amazons' homeland in North Africa
The original homeland of the Libyan Amazon was at Lake Tritonis. This Lake Tritonis is most probably identical with today's Chott el-Djerid in South Tunisia. This region is object of our scientific research. - On the tracks of the Amazons on the Greek islands Lemnos and Samothrace
The island Lemnos, which is situated in the northeastern Aegean Sea, has frequently been connected with Amazons. This island was called »gynaikokratumene« by the ancient Greeks, which means »reigned by women«.
North of Lemnos there is the island Samothrace, which was made sacred to the »Great Mother« by the Amazon queen Myrine. This queen also founded a famous sanctuary there. - Exploration of the Caucasian Amazons' homeland
There is the ancient tradition that Amazons had lived in the Caucasus Mountains. That is why we follow their traces in this unexplored region.
Fields of research are: The delta of the Rion (in antiquity: Phasis), where the legendary land Colchis was situated, and the region from Noworossijsk in the north to Suchumi in the south where the mysterious Northwest Caucasian Megalith culture left impressive monuments.
Our latest research project -> August 2021: Field research at the East Coast of the Black Sea - the legendary land of Colchis - Our Project for 2024: Researching Lycia
Our research objective - the land of Lycia - is situated in the Southwest of Turkey. Ancient sources mention some extraodinary details about the people of Lycia. It is reported that the children of Lycia were named after their mother and not after their father - as usual in ancient Greece. In The Iliad, Homer writes of the fight between the Greek hero Bellerophon and Lycian Amazons. Actually, Lycia is famous for the great number of oustanding tomb monuments.
